Twitter users, in particular, want the year to end but they won't let it silently slip away. Instead, they've turned their disgust into a trending topic.
On Facebook, people are chatting about pro wrestling and Snapchat.

#2016WasTheYearThatIFinally: Long hashtag aside, Twitter users are tired of a year that seems like it will never end. With more than a month to go until 2017, people are already tweeting about the cruel realities that this past year brought. Users shared their woes on the trending topic, comparing the last 300+ days to Murphy's Law. Well, as long-suffering Brooklyn Nets fans say, there's always next year!
Acropolis: President Obama is on his last foreign tour as the nation's leader and made a stop in Greece's Acropolis. He's expected to give a speech in Athens on Wednesday to try to ease international fears of Donald Trump in the White House. The ancient monument was trending on Twitter with photos of Obama's guided tour.
Snapchat: The wildly successful social network is set for one of the largest initial public offerings in tech history. Snap, the company behind the app, could be valued at $20 billion to $25 billion, according to Reuters. With more than 150 million daily users, Snap has become a social media giant. The company is rumored to be filing confidentially for its IPO. More than 1 million people on Facebook were talking about how it grew from a teen sensation to a social media juggernaut.
Undertaker: The deadman's walking again. On Tuesday night, during the 900th episode of WWE's Smackdown Live, the wrestling phenom returned after a seven-month hiatus. More than 53,000 people have been talking on Facebook about the Undertaker's return, with the topic still trending nine hours after the event.
Macy's Thanksgiving Parade: With a little more than a week to go, Facebook users are already focusing on the annual parade through Manhattan. This year will mark the parade's 90th anniversary. It's more than just excitement, however, as the New York Police Department is on high alert after ISIS's magazine called the parade an "excellent target" for a terrorist strike.
